Walls , and more walls

Today was a big day for walls. Dan and I blasted up some more really good twisty halls and basically shape out theme #1. By days end Friday I bet we are 1/2 way done the rough in stages. Toni and Ashley are putting some of thier finishing touches on some of the new vacu-form panels we [...]

Nail to Hammer at Potters House of Horrors

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Today I finally got to put my own “Hammer to Nail” today at the House of Horrors. Actually its Screw Gun to screw. Don’t use to many nails in construction of the HOH, too hard to take apart later. Feels kind of good actually. Progress has been made! Over the weekend Dan put together the [...]

Vortex Build

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Back from 2008, our Vortex Tunnel had to be the most memorable prop we had last year. I’m still dizzy thinking about it, Well its back, and near complete. Im wondering if I hook up a high speed motor to it if the effect will be more intense? I think 200hp should do it.

The Great big wall Goes Up at Potters House of Horrors

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Just got back from holidays and to my surprise the build team has erected “The Big Black Wall” This wall holds a lot of significance for our event. Its the beginning of the entire build, its the division of the garden center retail area and the haunt, and it pretty much holds everything else up [...]

New Props 2009

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Ghostride delivers again. One of my favorite sources for props has to be Ghostride Productions in Bellvue Washington. I just received our sample of our body form we ordered a week or so ago and I’m so impressed. The detail is amazing, its posable, life size, durable, and will ad a sense of realism you [...]

Prop Hunting for Potters House of Horrors

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

I just got back from a warehouse in Surrey. Loaded with reclaimed movie props, set decor, and fillers.  Among all the ghosts, ghouls and goblins there was some outstanding pieces from the movie 13th Warrior. If I’m correct it was filmed in Squamish and stared Antonio Banderas?  Hoping to scoop some of the evil stuff [...]

New From Movie Set

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Thanks to some helpful insiders at Frightfest BC we just acquired the coolest tomb set from a local movie production. The said to be named “Stone Henge Appocalypse” was filming some scenes at a local Mission School.  Our FF insider who is working on the production passed on a tip that the production manager would be selling [...]

Meeting of the Minds 2009

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

June 2, 2009, Annual Potters House of Horrors General Meeting. Never too early to get started. We called in the builders, creators, designers, and managers all in on this years meeting. Plenty to discuss. Big topic was how do we top last years event? We tabled all the themes from last year, new ideas for 2009, new [...]

Killer Crowds at Potters House of Horrors

Monday, October 27th, 2008

“Build it and they come” Not sure who I’d be quoting there but they are telling the truth. We saw some of the biggest crowds ever this weekend at Potters haunt. The weather cooperated, even though we are covered, rain always tends to keep people at home. Line ups were long, but moved along at [...]

Never say Die at Potters House of Horrors

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

The big crowds at Potters House Horrors put big demands on our haunted house. We really put all the animatronics to the test as the nights get busier. We found that the monster compressor we bought 2 years ago isn’t so big after all. I guess when you add a 17ft tall Pumpkin King to [...]
